Improving English while sailing. Being a myth in a Myths’ land. A full immersion into English language and culture while floating on the smooth waves of our sea . An enjoyable, relaxing, interesting, profitable holiday: sea, sun, relax, nature, history…..and, of course, ENGLISH!

Living Language Institute, in collaboration with Vela Dream organises study-trips on board sailing boat.

A small group of 6 or 8 people accompanied by a professional skipper and a mother tongue teacher. The 24 hour course focuses on grammar, conversation, listening and comprehension of the language and improvement of vocabulary; actually, it’s a full immersion course with a mother tongue teacher who’s available 24 hours a day: not only do they pass on their knowledge, but they are also the leading spirits of the communication during the whole day. Even the skipper has an active role in practising the language. In fact, the skipper involves the students in steering the boat, so that they have the possibility to speak more in English.

A TYPICAL ITINERARY
We’ll leave from the port of Agropoli which is the pearl of the Cilento coast and an area of indescribable natural beauties and prestigious archaeological evidence of Magna Graecia.
We’ll go towards the Amalfi coast to reach Capri with its square, the Azure grotto and the cliffs.
We’ll go back to the mainland by setting a course for Cilento following the steps of Ulysses and Aeneas. Actually, Ulysses met the mermaids in these waters. Punta Licosa was named after one of the mermaids Licosia who was turned into a rock by Poseidon; in this area Aeneas, while escaping from Troy, lost his faithful helmsman Palinurus.
